Congrats!! Enjoy MY reel!x( Oh Well, next time!! (a calfishing.com tee shirt for 2nd runner up???) I was noticing that most of the weights were very LOW by comparison the the actual weight. I knew Rob would'nt have put a bunch of squeelers up there, so I fugured they'd each be at least around 9 or 10 lbs each,so 60 lbs +/- about 2 pounds was my initial guess. The "without going over" part made it ALOT tougher!! THANKS!! to Rob and OKUMA for the FUN!!! Lets do this more often, even if it's just for a spool of line or something.....maybe a BBZ-1?????? :P Just by being on calfishing.com you're ALL WINNERS!!!!!!!! Hey Guys,
Thanks for the contest Rob and Okuma! And, thanks for the acknowledgements, fellow fisherpersons.
I know from experience that it is very difficult to guess the weight of a bass because of the two-dimensional view of pictures and from the different camera angles. But, I did factor in the fact that Rob is a big-basser making the average fish around 10 lbs, inspite of the inclusion of one large smallie.
So, taking account of all factors and feeding them in a very complicated mathematical formular, I came up with this........
I went outside, threw out an acorn and a blind pig took 60.8 seconds to find it. Thus, my guess of 60.8# was based on that event.:D :9
Of course, it was just a lucky guess!!!!!! I am no better than any of you at guessing.
Rob's spot the latest "Bass Insider" was great video on "swimbaiting," enough to generate interest but not enough to give the "secrets." Only thing they forgot to do was to jerk the rod several times, keep it pointed upward }( }( , and yell and scream like they're going to have a heart attack (like you see on the Sat. morning fishing shows made for TV). Theirs was very professional and informative. Nice gong, Rob!
All of you guys make this forum interesting and entertaining. Hope to meet you on the water sometime.
Len Jann
