So I got a new fish finder, LCX-17M. And I got a map chip for it, the Lowrance Fishing Hot Spots Elite http://www.lowrance.com/mapping/FHSelite/west.asp
Turns out the chip does not have a few of the lakes that I usually fish on it. I looked around an the Navionics maps do have some of the lakes I want, specifically Don Pedro and several other motherload lakes.
The question is, if I buy the Navionics chip, and I put it in the card slot at the same time as the FHS Elite chip, which one will display for lakes where this is coverage on both chips? Or will it work at all?

You might check out Lowrance's web site for map downloads onto your MMC chip thru the chip reader supplied with the unit and Map Create software. It will not be viewable on your PC thru the software unless you download the 17 mt emulator from Lowrance. Hope this helps. 'spoon
I got a reply back from Navionics about the map compatibility quetsion:
"Navionics charts are not compatible with other software. If your Lowrance LCX-17M has two slots for MMC cards, you can have both your Lowrance and Navionics charts in your unit at the same time. However, the chart information from both charts would not overlap each other. To switch between your Navionics chart and your Lowrance chart, you would choose from the different files listed under Map Choice."
