OK, for sure want to camp October 6th Thrusday to Sunday the 9th for this event. Looked earlier at www.reserveamerican.com for Clear Lake SP and could not find any camping spots available (all booked) for October 6-9th.
The group campgrounds at State Park is available and I wondered if anyone normally reserves that kind of like was done with M & M for the last Clear Lake SCBBBC Tournament?
Never been to State Park, any bad places to try to stay away from camping at vs great spots to try to get? Any input, well as usual would be appreciated again!

FYI: The Clear Lake @ M&M was ran by BNT, the Invitational coming up is ran by SCBBBC.
I am very supprised they say there booked at SP. That place is huge. I would call and find out for sure, there is a lot of good places and sites. I do know 1 time in the past SCBBBC staff reserved the large group camping area, but they didnt get a lot of heads to stay there and I believe they even lost some $$$ on the deal, they will know for sure.

Thanks John and yes I did know that BNT held that contest, it was great and your club did a great job.
The only way to get reservations at a State Park is through www.reserveamerica.com. Using that only source there are no spaces left / available for reservations.
There may be a first come first serve situation. Anyone with any expericence in the Group Camping story in the past or ideas for this upcomming event please chime in, I am very interested.

State Park is pretty large and there are a number of different areas to stay in over there. There are a couple different channels that Taylor is talking about (one being Cole Campground) but a good part actually fronts the main lake. Lots of great fishing in that area throughout the year. I've only stayed a couple times and they have nice facilities (hot showers, nice launch ramp, large parking lot, rv spaces, etc) and is well kept up.
Hopefully more will post some additional information.

Thanks Todd for more info and I too hope others chime in.
I just called Clear Lake State Park as John suggested. All of the sites that they have are available and only available on www.reserveamerica.com and that is the only way they take reservations. Also, they do not have any spaces saved for a first come first serve situation, you have to make reservations on line or on the toll free line to reserve america. Other option is to just show up and cross your fingers that a space is available.
I did ask about the group campsite (this is near the Boat Launch area, away from most so we can get rowdy). The group site is $66.00 per night and will handle up to 75 people. Normal sites from what I could tell are $20 each night. So if more than three people want to camp for a tournament (3 x $20 = $60)we could get the group area and put the hat out.
With this said, and the tournament in October, any one want to make plans to camp several days? Anyone remember what the group area looks like, what the shore looks like for launching and/or leaving our boats in the water at night? I can help coordinate setting things up (I was suposed to learn while in the US "NAVY" - Never Again Volunteer Yourself :-) )

John, State park Camping is first come first serve from Oct. 1st thru Feb 28th.
Also the real good sites on the water sites(58-60) in the Lakeside campground are "premium" sites and the price is higher. $25/night after 10/1, $30/night after 3/1.
The ReserveAmerica site has all the details. http://www.reserveamerica.com/jsp/commonpage.jsp?goto=/usa/ca/clea/newindex.html

YoeJohnny In October those campsites are usually wide open. They have been in the past anyway. I pull in Friday morning and grab a spot and then go out prefishing. It's a great place to stay too.
