Greg and I went straight to the big cove by the damn,I fished the secondary point and started dragging a green pumpkin tube. Most my fish were in less than 15 ft and my big fish hit it on the fall in about 3-4 ft.The 1st day I had a limit by 7.30 or so but on sunday it took a bit longer and I had to realy switch to split shotting a watermelon/red flake baby brush hog for most of my bites but still got a few on the tube.
It was a fun time and I want to thank Taylor for running a good tourney, the wiegh ins both days went rael smooth and quick.
I don't know if I'll be at Collins but will try.
Congrats to Scott and Mitch too :o
That's my story and I'm sticking with it,Swampy

Nice report Swampy, congrats on your finish!

My weekend went like this.
Saturday morning I rowed a ways to a spot that I like, that has produced for me in the past. I gave it half a day fishing a variety of baits for two fish that both came on a drop shot roboworm. I fished my way back towards the ramp and later in the afternoon I found some points where I managed to fill out my limit and cull a couple of times, also on the drop shot.
Sunday I went straight to where I caught my afternoon fish the day before and drop shotted a small limit by 8:00am and then proceeded to catch dinks the rest of the day and was never able to cull up. I'll take third place with a grin.

Congrats to all you guys who finished in the money.

MT

Good reading thanks for sharing guys. On another note. Is the overall quality slightly increasing? Check out the last couple years winning weights

2010 15.31
2009 14.63
2008 10.57

going back even further
2007 15.59
2006 19.49 this was Nicks win with the 1 rouge bass, but second was 17+lbs.
2005 11.2

It appears it is slightly getting better size fish, or same class of fish with a little more food. I would imagine with the higher water there are more crawdads in the water for the spots to eat. What were the fish spitting up in your livewells? With the talk of tubes and brushhogs, sounds like they were on dads, maybe?

What made 2006 so special? The link to pics doesnt work to try and compare.

What are the thoughts of the BNT guys that were there?

Yup the fish were a little plumper than normal this year. I had 1 crawdad and some very small 1"-2" bait fish in my well. They were too decomposed to tell exactly what they were but they did resemble sculpin (what was left of them). I got bit on everything but they did like the sculpin D.S. the second day a lot. There was a crawdad bite as well Robert smashed em on the jig towards the end of day 2 once we both had limits. :+ :+ Fun spot we were on for sure, one of us was hooked up almost all day long right up till we left it.

John,

If you look at Won Bass and Anglers Choice results from 2006 a lot of the wieghts were way up, as I remember it we were seeing upwards of 14 lbs all spots at the big boat tournaments (not all of them, but a few)....Then I think in 07-08 the fish were really skinny. The lake was way down starting then also...Hopefully the spots in Naci are on a rebound and getting back to the 2.5 average range again.

To fish is to live!
