i THINK I HAVE MADE MY MIND UP ON THE SUPER FAT CAT FROM OUTCAST. BEEN TOLD IT IS THE CROSS OF A PONTOON AND FLOAT TUBE, BUT BIG AND STABLE WITHOUT ALL THE SETUP TIME LIKE A PONTOON. ONLY FISHING SMALL LAKES AND NEVER RIVERS. SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME OUT BEFORE I PURCHASE THIS TO KNOW IF I AM MAKING THE RIGHT CHOOSE. (ANY PICTURES WOULD GREATLY HELP) FOR THE FAT CAT IN ACTION. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS.

I have a Super Fat Cat. It has been a good boat for me. The valve on the "Super" Fat Cat lets air out more quickly, and is the reason for the higher price. I'd call Outcast and make sure what the differences are between the Super Fat Cat and the cheaper version. If its only the valve, it probably isn't worth over $100 difference.

The valve did malfunction on me once. I sent it back to Outcast and it was repaired free of charge.
The boat is large and stable with plenty of storage. It's definitely the Cadillac of U-Boats. If the cheaper version has all the same specs, take a hard look at that one.

do you think it is worth purchasing the fat cat over a pontoon boat. The last problem i had with my float tube is it is so slow. Is the fat cat fast on water.

I have a pontoon boat too. I bought it after I had the Fat Cat for a year. I wanted to cover more water in the Delta.
The Fat Cat is as fast as any craft that is propelled by kicking with fins, but it can't touch a pontoon boat with oars. Kickboats with oars are MUCH faster.
The best attribute of the Fat Cat vs. a pontoon boat is that it is smaller, lighter, and more portable. I like it for quick evening trips after work.
The pontoon boat is far superior if I'm going to cover water and must move more quickly. It is bigger and has more storage capacity. I sit higher out of the water.

The storage and setup time are the reason I bought one (used and it came with a ventilated storage bag). It is terrific as it takes just a few minutes with a double action pump. I've used it for my one hour trips to a local pond after work and is GREAT!
I have owned round tubes, u-boats and currently have a Buck's Bag Bronco as my kickboat but this Outcast works great on my short trips along with lakes I need to do a little hiking into.
As far as I know also, it is a bit more durable than the lesser version along with the valve but don't know exactly what all the differences are.

How fast are the pontoon boats on water seeing that their is not drag like the tube. Still can not make mind up---i was leaning toward the fat cat, but know i am thinking about go ahead and getting the pontoon boat. Any final thoughts on either.
