OK so it wasn't a largemouth but it was a nice striper. Didn't weigh it as the scale was 40 ft away and this thing tore up my thumb. Fish was caught on a custom wrapped Rainshadow 967, Calcutta 400, 25 lb Triple Fish camoescent, and a medium sized black MS Slammer.
and if that wasn't enough 40 minutes later this one hit a Lunker Punker! To land it I dragged it on shore probably not the best idea but the fish swam away strong. The gear for this fish was was an Okuma 7' 11" XH swimbait rod, Calcutta 400te, 25 Triple Fish camoescent and the 9" Lunker Punker.
That was only my second trip with it but I like it. It has the typical walk the dog action for the most part. It seems the farther out the bait is the wider you can make it "walk". I have also had a few times where the bait would submerge slightly and I was walking the dog right under the surface and then the bait would pop out of the water looking like a jumping fish so it also has some erratic action to it. The lunker punker also throws a huge wake so it can be used is windier conditions.
I really have nothing to compare it to as I can't remember the last time I actually threw a walk the dog type bait. I am curious myself how it compares to the super magnum wood spook.
Yo Dude! SICK Striper!! Hey Erik, you're not pretending anything 'since 2001' with that rainshadow set-up and that fish!! Keep up the great hook ups!! -Alex
