Has anyone ever discussed the Doug Hannon snakes on this forum? I noticed his web site has quite a few new pictures of large bass taken on the snake lures he sells. Has anyone ever tried these? I'd have to think if snakes were such a hot lure there would be more of them on the market - but I don't know.
I bought his snake kit a few years ago and......that was a mistake. The snakes are made out of that vanishing, 3X-type soft plastic. The baits are extremely light in weight and almost require a spinning rod/reel to throw one. Even managing to throw one with a finesse-type baitcasting rig in a swamp pond only got me one 2 lber.
Interesting... I almost bought those snakes too but it couldn't quite justify it since I don't fish topwater like that much. Glad to hear I saved a few bucks :)

I live in Florida and I didnt buy those snakes. Theres something "fishy" about the way they looked so I refrained from purchasing. As far as being a gimmick.
Heck, a horny toad, or a weightless worm will atleast do the very same thing or better based on what I saw. It was pointless to buy.
Doug is just trying to make some money I guess. Supposedly the guy has landed more than 800 bass over 10 lbs. Which is mind boggling to me.
