Yeah, I know, just a swimbait. But the 5 inch version of this has nailed me 5 calicos over 5 pounds, 3 of those were over 6 pounds. It has also counted for my only legal WSB (from the beach even!). The tail of the hammer swims so well at slow speeds--better than other baits I've fished. Colorwise, the brownback grunion mimics so many species of forage: grunion and smelt, baby calicos. It's a really natural 'dead' color with the side stripe just adding a subtle flash. It's my confidence bait. It also catches smaller bass too, if you're into numbers.
