#6817, "8/3/05--Two Bites=Two Bass=10.8 lbs"
|
Took off work for the swamp pond today. Bright sun, partly cloudy, low-to-mid-90's, little wind.
Fished for two hours without a bite--Baby Bass, buzzbait, soft jerkbait, and a Slammer plug--nada. At 12:30 PM, I pitched a BB next to two stumps in 9' of water and felt a bite. Landed a 4 lb., 12 ozer and she was 24" long.
Two more hours go by without any bites and I'm headed back to the truck when I pitched the BB into 5' of water near a bank and a 6.0 lber--24" too(?) grabbed the BB. Stuck her right in the tongue pad whereas, the 4/12 got stuck in the roof of her mouth.
Hot and sweaty but happy for the two Bass, I headed home to Warner Robins.

Yes, I agree that they are a little skinny. They certainly don't look 'tubby' like the Cali Bass pics I've seen. I surely wish they were.
U: You'referring to Fort Stewart? I've gotten info on it and am just going to have to suck it up and give their Lunker lakes a try even though it's a pretty long trip for me.
