ive fished super flukes on 3 different occasions and did fairly well on them. i fish them weightless on spinning gear and let them sink on a slack line. once it hits the bottom i use a twitch twitch pause retrieve all the way back. another technique i use is a fast retrieve with constant twitches (it swims in less then 6" deep and looks like a zara spook). i have a feeling im doing something wrong. id say 90% of my fish have came while its sinking and the other 10% (or less) have come during the retrieve. ive also noticed that the fish which bite it during the retrieve tend to be bigger (or maybe its a coincidence) because i caught 2 fish at around 5 pounds after twitching it twice.

i would appreciate it if you guys can give me some insight on how you prefer to work the super flukes and correct my technique if there is somethign wrong with it. thanks in advance.

There is nothing wrong w/ your tecnique it is just a fact that deadsticking usally works better in fact senkos are much better than flukes you can fish them just like flukes but they fish better on the fall and more salt so cast further. The only time I would prefer a fluke over a senko is on a c-rig.

the article didnt cover too much but it pretty much summed up what i have been doing so that, in a way, helped a lot. thanks. bassdozer.com's expert articles are great.

I use flukes a lot and have had some success. I use them as more of a top water (or more accurately a just under the top water) bait and just twitch it back. It's basically a soft jerk bait. It has a lot of action and darts in every direction, great for imitating a wounded shad. I use it a lot differently that I do a Senko and have never deadsticked it or let it sink down.
My PB 8lb LMB came on a Zoom Super Fluke in the Baby Bass color.
I even had a 1lb crappie hit one last week!

I too like Flukes, and like Ken I do not fish them like a senko. They are great clear water twitch baits. I tend to use them in the summer in the mornings/evenings and as follow up baits for top water missed strikes. Spots and smallies just kill them.

You can definatley fish flukes fast across the top and that is very effective sometimes but you can do the same thing just as good w/ a senko.

senkos only catch fish for me on the fall, a few seconds when it hits the ground, or the first slow drag on the bottom. whereas, ive had fish jump out of the water to eat my fluke that was being fished on top.

I guess its a confindence think I fish senkos like you guys fish flukes and slay em. I have a ball sight fishing that way, just give it a try w/ a positive attitude and mabey it will work for you too?
