#3563, "SKIFF FISHING WITH Harbor Rat"

We went skiff fishing and i took him to a spot where i know there was halibut Harbor rat put down his first anchovie and got bit hard and mised the the fish and when he reeled up his anchovie was half gone. We drifed about five times and got hits every drifed. There are alot of halibut around just not hungry to eat an hole anchovie. Im going to try it after school this friday. There is live squid in the bait tanks so all try to get some see bass as well. That wraps it up for the Harbor King.

He took you fishing and provided the bait and was going to show you why he was the " HARBOR KING", is that it? This sounds similar to what a buddy did to me. He said he was the "ALL TIME HALIBUTT KICKER".
He took me out in his boat and provided all the tackle necessary to have identical tackle for "The great fish-off", as he called it. I got a little suspicious when he wouldn't even let me bait my own hook. (This guy was known to be a prankster). After he got 2 Halibut and I missed 3, I got ahold of my hook and found that he'd filed the point off at the barb. It was filed FLAT. After that I tied on a good hook and put him in his place with 5 flatties C&Rd to 14# and 1 8# kept for dinner, to his 4 C&Rd (including his first 2). So in the time it took him to get 2, I got 6, and I still had him over to dinner even after he filed my hook.

Tight lines,
Wade
