I was up there a few months back for my first try. I used small grubs carolina rigged. Cambria (Moonstone beach area) looked fishy but yielded no bites. I saw others fishing with bait and heavy gear but no action either. There was a ton off loose weed in the water as the surf had been big recently. The best spot was the north side of SS pier. It was all sand and had lots of sand crabs evident. The birds were going off digging for them. I did not get to fish that spot unfortunately but I'm sure I would have been bit there as there was so much action going on (forage, little rips and troughs, etc.)

I have fished that side of the pier before. LOTS of grass, and no bites.

I have caught quite a few BSP off the pier though.
