Wanting to take advantage of the last of the three day weekend I found myself once again driving up to Carp state beach. This mornin to start out with the weeds were not too bad, and I started out fishing the Hammer grubs, but after only gettig 12 smallish perch I switched of to a 3in tenesee shad Big Hammer. About the time I was about to give up on the swimbait and go back to the grub I get nailed! In comes a 15in halibut, then over the next twenty minutes things got interesting, I ended up catching 4 big perch to 11/2lbs and three more halibuts, two 19inchers and a 23inch one! After the big the weeds moved in and made it unfishable so at about 10am I bailed to look for a new beach to try. I found myself getting off at the Bates off ramp and fishing Rincon park beach for 15 more asmaller perch and more weeds! I talked to a Gentalman that said got a 31/2 perch last there on the incoming tide. Incidently all my fish were released today...Larry

Real fish are measured in pounds - not inches!
