I want to add an up front fishfinder to my trolling motor. There are so many brands and models to choose from! Any advice or personal opinions on which is best would be appreciated.
I'm thinking a price limit of under $500 unless something really special makes it worth spending more.

I bought a Garmin 250C last January. I have been using it all year long and I am very happy with it. The retail is about $500 or so, so it's in your price range. It also has a module for GPS capability.
