Since they are planting trout here, it must be open to fishing. If the main area is not open, then please help with directions to park at or near the dam area. I have never parked near the dam. Please help. I would like to try it out. Also, would I need a forset pass to park?

Go down the 138 like your going up to Silverwood, turn left on the only highway/ two lane road...towards Hesperia. Go down 2 miles or so and you will see a sign for the road to the dam on your right.

You have to park in a lot above the dam and I'm almost positive you do not need an Adventure pass, might have to put five bucks in an envelope for parking. There used to be a dirt road access to the back side of Silverwwod, you would need an AP to go and park back there, it's a fire road basically. You will see the entrance to it right before the parking lot on the dam.More than it's likely closed off though.

Are you going for Stripers or Trout(striper food)?

Hey guys,
Due to the closure the fire road is under lock and key, but
the dam is still open for fishing. FYI, you will see broken
glass in the parking lot...window glass!

In the early morning and later in the evening, across the
lake, you will sometimes see 10# to 30# Stripers busting
water. What a site to see and hear. Can't wait for them to
open up again.

Good luck this weekend.

Is that glass from breaking into cars or fire related? I think
I will be going this Saturday.

Nemo ... I would believe he is talking about fire related
window glass. I could imagine how much debris is on the water.
I hope fishing is not effected by that.

I hope I'm wrong but I think he is refering to vehicles
being broken into. I have parked there maybe 20 times or so
and have not had a problem, but it is a very isolated area and
under the cover of darkness the roaches come out. Never leave
anything of value in your car where someone can see it and
always lock your doors and set your alarm.

Fisheezgnndie..if your looking for some nice trout
action,Hesperia lake is small but fun to fish. There can be
some awesome jig bites, and bait usually works all day.Might
be kinda cold in the morning though, they might have even got a
little snow from the last storm?

PHISHnutS,

The glass is from cars being vandalized. A friend parked his
car at the lot and after three hours of fishing he returned to
find his car broken into. He lost his radio, speakers and
cd's. I told him he was lucky cuz he still had a car.

risk!
