Just read an article about the flood damage (latest issue of WON) that has run off into the lake from the Christmas day storm after the fire damage in October, it says that Cleghorn arm is completely covered with floating debris and there thinking about placing a buoyline to halt the spread when the winds kick up. Also funding in this time of budget crunching will be critical. I love to fish Silverwood, I hope they can get all the help they need to re-open the lake.:-(

I just talked to a guy who was around there this past week. He said you could see fish boiling all over the place. Man I wish I could get in there with some swimbaits.

That's too bad if it is that full of debris, there was tons of driftwood along the shore and in the backs of coves, with all that plus what came down from the hillsides, one big mess.
I heard getting power restored to the area was a big problem, add the threat of falling trees from unstable ground and it just gets worse. The rumors will start flying now that it's not fishable to the public! But those fish won't be any easier to catch than before, the big ones anyway ;)
It's a beautiful lake, hope to see it open soon!!
Check out flexbait.com
Gregg has taken some pics of the damage and said he will update his site with any info on the re-opening, if and when. And no the flexbait is not available yet, I already asked :(

You can still fish on the dam area from the shore. Trout will be stocked next week. It's not all gloom and doom, but there is a lot of floating wood. Depends on the wind whether or not it's a problem.
