Any of you guys from Palo Alto: have you fished foothill lake? (For those of you who aren't from PA, this park is only open to Palo Alto residents.) Anyway, I was just curious, whats the biggest fish you've caught out of this lake. Obviously when they created it they weren't thinking of making it a good fishery--it's so shallow and full of weeds. Well, three years ago i pulled out a 3-4 pounder, which I believe could be the largest ever to be had at this lake. Being in sixth grade, however, I did not realize how amazing this was, and I ate itx(. To this day I am still kicking myself.

Well, just wanted to share, and I would appreciate any stories from you guys!

I caught an 8 pounder out of there the spring of '95 I think. I heard of several fish around that size being caught back then and I've seen lots of 4-6 pounders swimming along the shoreline. It was stocked with Florida strain largemouths after it was refilled in the late '80s, so they bass should reach good sizes. I just think it was overfished. I believe it's been designated C&R only now, so maybe you'll start seeing big ones again soon.

I moved to Mountain View a few years ago and haven't fished it since.
