thanks for the report bert. i was up on thursday for 1 duck. I'm going up today with a buddy on his 18' trophy. he has a few swimbait rods that i want to check out before i buy one. we'll probably wind up dunking anchovies along the rocks at the west side if anyone is around. maybe the jetskis will wake up the stripers.

>let me know how you made out and where.
My buddy had never been boating at castiac so it was more of a boating and rod demo morning than seriously fishing. we were off the lake about 11 when it started getting busy.
I fell in love with his 800XL with cork wrapped butt. as usual, champagne affair on a coors light budget.
oh yeah. dunked cut anchovies during brunch in a spot I metered on thursday in the slalom cove. my buddy got hit immediately but missed it. that was it. saw a dozen or so boats dunking chovies up higher but they looked like they were all snoozing.

Bert, The Robert that your talking about wouldn't happen to be Robert Flaata? JUST wondering. You wouldn't happen to have any photos of the fish?I was kinda shocked to hear that the fish were caught on Monday. The conditions havent been all to good the last week with the water clearing up and all.
