Hi guys just wondering, whats your all time favorite summer bait for bass
i'm gonna do alittle bit of fishin tomorow, and just wanted to know what should I throw? I was thinkin a zara spook, or a jerk bait or somethin since theres still bass fry where Im fishin at and also the occasional schools of shad that swim by.
You, know your a fisherman when your boat costs more then your car

A Pop -R or lucky craft sammy early ,white/chart. spinnerbait mid morning, and dropshotting a small shad type baits in the middle of the day .I dont feel theres a real formula for summer fishing sometimes I end up Junk fishing myself. good luck , Brian

RI Vixen.A Spook style bait, but works better than a Sammy with chop on the water and even better in flat stuff. I've had fish hit this bait so hard at my local lake they took big chunks of paint off. Next would be a frog, and a small shallow crank in a 'gill or bass color is usually good also. A ripbait is a good choice year round, and if I find the chance to fish it,I will usually throw it. A big shallow rip like a LC Flashminnow usually works well too when the mudlines get movin' with the wind, as do spinnerbaits. Flukes worked fast on top can be killer too. Deep cranks and lipless in the grass rock too. For plastics, my number one summer option would be either a T-rigged Sweet Beaver or a Yamamoto Hula Grub on a football head, depending on the grass I'm fishing. T-rig and DS also. Darterheading a Robo in shade pockets along shady walls and banks can be a good pattern too.

Pop-Rs and spooks. Also agree with the post above on the RI Vicxon top water walking bait is an excellent choice. I would also agree that this bait is better the sammy. I'm not a big fan of the Sammy. However I am a big fan of lucky craft jerk baits (pointers and flash minnows) but I prefer to throw topwater during summer.
