Ok, I'm tired of trout fishing and trying to teach myself how to fish for bass. Some of you have given me great tips and locations, but apparently, I must not be much of a student. I tried Irvine, Peck Rd. and Santa Fe dam using everything I can think of for NADA. If anyone out there wants to meet me somewhere local near the San Gab. Valley and teach this frustrated fisherman, I'll bring the beer, (if you don't drink beer than how bout lunch. I don't have a big ego and am not afraid to ask for help, so I can learn this great sport from some of you Pro's... Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Just post a message or send me an email rgreep@ausd.net.. Thanks
Bruinfootballfan!!!

I sometimes go to Irvine for a few hours at a time. I will probably be fishing from shore if that's ok with you. I can help you get dialed in and when I need to split, you keep fishing. This is all during the week however. Let me know.

Hi, you've got mail. As for asking for help, I still ask questions to this day and will always do so. CJ and the gang at Bass World have been a big help getting me dialed back into freshwater bass and I am having a blast lately (I used to do it a lot). Others who I'd like to thank are Rusty Brown of Orange Turners and Brian Tsunami from here. If more folks would put their pride aside they sure would excel more at many things (and not just fishing.)

I fish about five times a week and I live in San Gabriel. I fish bass on weekdays (Late afternoons/ evenings) and saltwater on weekends. Your more than welcome to join me. I've been meeting up with Tsunami lately at Legg Lake you should come down and meet up with us. All that I ask is that you practice catch and release. Let me know if you want to hook up for some bass fishing after work some time. Beer and lunch are both optional but not necessary you will need to bring your fishing license, in addition to a rod and reel. I would recommend bringing a camera too. Sooner or later you will find yourself gripping the lips of a trophy bass and I bet you'll want to snap a picture or two before you release her. If you havn't already then stick your tackle in a back pack. Be prepared to do some walking and with any luck you'll be doing some catching too. If you stick with it I can promis it will happen and there's a very good chance you will start catching bass on your first afternoon out.

Thanks Fongster and JerryG. I've been fishing most of my life and recently started to get into Salt water and would like to gain some Knowledge for the freshwater bass. I will definitely hit you guys up during the week I live in Glendora and work in Arcadia so all those locations are great. . I've got a Shimano Curado and a Abu ambassadeur for my reels, as for the fresh water poles I bought a Berkely and Shimano rods med action since they were real cheap. I figured until I knew what I really needed I didn't want to spend too much money. thanks again guys and I will definitely be contacting you!

Excellent insight on Fongsters behalf. I agree completely, I've devoted most of my free time in life to fishing. However, there have been times when responsibilities and other interests kept me busy. After taking a break from fishing I too have found that it can be very difficult to get dialed back in. A little help can go a long way and I am thankful for those who have provided me with information in the past.

While many anglers may boast their talents the reality is that the bulk of fishing knowledge is held by a small percent of anglers. Of this percentage there are few who are willing to share their knowledge. A wise fisherman (Tsunami AKA Brian) once told me if experienced anglers don't take the initiative to introduce fishing to others or help out those who have expressed a raised interest in fishing then our sport will never grow. Moving forward we will need all the support we can get and with out growth our sport will truely have no future.

Thanks for the kind words David and Jerry, ive learned alot from you guys as well, especially w/ the calicos fongster. I havent had the chance to try it yet since ive been to busy fishing the spawn. Ive picked up almost all of the colors youve recommended so when i do get that chance its definitely on!!. No lack of action on your end, you been getting em at the vine lately. I need to get out there, everyone i talk to thats been out there says the bites been pretty good. And Jerry thanks for all the guided trips at the fishing hole bro. I feel like i have a solid foundation on the place and can now start fishing w/ confidence. Greeper you should definitely meet up w/ Fongster up at the vine or w/ Jerry and I at Legg. Bring your rod and the baits you have, ive got plenty extras if you need em and lets fish.

Hi guys,
Jerry, I met you guy at Santa Fe Dam a few weeks ago when I was walking for exercise. Did not know that was Tsunami with you at the time. Sure would like to meet up with you guys too at SFD or Legg, never fished there before. This is my first season pursuing the LMB.
So much to learn, but then I am an eternal student.
David, I am hoping to make it with my son, last day of his vacation, and grandson, playing hookie, to Irvine tomorrow. Are you going to be there? Maybe I can get some quick pointers from you, since you have been slaying the bass at the 'vine?

I understand,David, thanks anyway. Someone e-mailed with some great tips. I just got back from Puddingstone. Fished from 7:30-8:35 pm, best outing yet, cause I hit the right spot. Caught five bass in half an hour and two more the next, 1-3#ers. See you around.
