Hit up perris today with a couple bros for a midafternoon hunt.brought the tubes as I needed to try out some new breathable waders santa had brought :-) . got to the lake about 1:00. decided to fish sail cove since we had the tubes..the water was as high as ive seen in long time and chilly..definitly full pool. notice they got rid of the first(and now last)pier that comes off the dam.I fished 4 hours all over the cove for one bump and the big ol skunkerinoo!he hasent came around in awhile. I even fished one of my buddys live(micro) dads'for nothin.when you cant pull a bass on a live dad' from perris somethin wrong? my one bump came on the drop shot with the 4in robo worm(probably a dink!). water was super clear and could see 15+ down! very few people out. one other tuber, couple shore casters, a boat out deep sittin on what must of been a rock pile or?. something got to happen because as woodchuckr said perris is definitly sleeeepin!... maybe its the weather!?(aahahahaahahh!good enough for me!) thats fishin.. KEEP EM BENT!!!!!

P.S. one other wierd/intresting point, not a lick of wind all afternoon! somethin wrong here....

I sure hope so! I am beginning to think it is in decline. I was onto a killer pattern that worked all summer the summer before last (shaking motor-oil sickle tails in the east-end weeds). This last summer, I didn't get a single strike on that pattern. I know bites change, but I didn't find a good bite all summer. I hope that it was just me.

Is anybody doing any good at PERRIS? I got on the water today at 7AM and worked the "Road" and most of the rock piles and threw just about everything at them, with no luck. I pulled up anchor around noon. I talked to a few other die-hards and they where not having any luck either. It has to blow open soon! Just hope that I am there when it does.

No luck tonight(12-28)....

Walked the whole length of the dam throwing multiple swimbaits and no love at all.Started right at sundown with some nice chop on the water so was expecting something, but not even a half hearted swipe.

I guess it can only get better.

Fished Perris on the 28th throwing the Stocker Trout. Only managed one fish that went 13 pounds even. The weird thing about this fish is it had a split belly (Holding eggs) and had a bloody tail. I think with the off and on weather and the water being so high, the fish are thinking that spring is closer than it is. Other than that the lake is tough right now.

It tomahawked me right at the boat. It came out of about twelve feet of water. The fish was on rock.

Congrats on the fish! Thats a pretty big "only" fish. I've had no luck there lately.. nothing but skunk the last few times fishing there, throwing mostly big baits.. Tsunami got a couple nice Hammer fish off the Marina area.. and a bunch of follows. But overall pretty tough..

The weather was nice and warm today.. almost felt like spring. Hope it stay like this.. I'm headed down there in 5 hours.. just picked up a handful of Parmus from BWW and can't wait to cast them out.
