#13722, "Mackinaw trout?"

Does anyone have any tips on fishing for Mackinaw trout on a party boat at Lake Tahoe? I have heard that Mackinaws are not good eating. Is this true? Do they taste any better than planted trout? Is there a choice of party boats; if so, can anyone recommend one? Are Mackinaws also called "lake trout"?

Thanks for any information on tackle and techniques also.

Bob

Ya, macks and lake trout are technically the same thing. They are a more of a fatty trout but they still tast good. There are some party boats that operate out of lake tahoe and they troll like 200-300 feet deep with live minnows and other typical trolling lures.
