I am planning on a week of bass fishing starting the 1st. of April.Santa Margarita lake looked like a bet , but what with the flood of muddy cold water , I am thinking the central coast may be a bit slow until things settle down and warm up.Does Lake Casitas look better?I would prefer the central coast but I do not want to waste the time and effort if there is a better place.Any idea's I have not considered? Thanks, Scott Shaw

Scott,
You would be suprised at how fast Santa Margarita can clear up. We've had weather in the mid to high 70s all week and Margarita should turn on any time now. By April 1st it should be hot! I'm hoping to go up on Saturday and I'll let you know how it looks.

Hey, Brian Daniel and i are planning a trip up to cachuma during spring break and we will probably camp up there for a few days. I you want to change your plans and go to cachuma, i think the spawn should start up there really soon! It would be cool to have some other people up there so its up to you. We still dont have deffinate plans, but i know im going to keep my boat up there for like a week starting probably on saturday the 31 to the next saturday, and will probably try and fish up there atleast 5 days that week. So it would be cool to see you up there and hopefully the bite will be on.

PS: do you have a boat or will you be fishing from shore?

I fish via kayaks, both conventional and sit on top. I am hoping Santa Margarita clears and heats up,it is my first choice.I would like to fish Cachuma , but the info I have says that kayaks are a no no.Has this changed? Even windy Isabella allows such. Thanks,Scott Shaw

After looking at the choices,I will head for Lake Casitas on next Sunday. If it is not as hot as advertised,I will head to Santa Margarita in a few days from then. Thanks for the invite anyhow.I am going back over to the coast in early May around the full moon.I haven't decided where as yet.Scott Shaw
