I ran across this article in a 1961 Western Outdoor News. I found this piece of history very interesting. Thank God this experiment do not work.

Walleye were also planted in El Cap, to no avail. Back about 1996 or so five walleye were caught in the lower Colorado River below Laguna Dam. Seems the incredible flood that spilled Saguaro Lake in central AZ washed a pile of them into the Gila River and all the way to the Colorado. Absolutely astounding story. 100's of miles of dry riverbed, and enough water to carry adult walleye that far. As a side note, there was enough sand washed down the Gila River to cover the Colorado riverbed 150 feet wide and 30 feet deep for 12 miles.

I don't know to much about them , but what's wrong with Walleyes? I've seen them on tv and they seem to be hard fighting . Also they say that they are pretty good eating. It's like the people who hate The Stripers in Castaic. I think more people would choose to catch a large striper over a small Trout .

Peace,
