Fished Legg today for a few hours and found the bite to be good. Started at the lake closest to the freeway w/ a jig for nada, switched to an Ika..nada, dropshot....nada. Moved to the middle lake and started w/ the same...nada. Although i did see a 7 and a 8 caught and released on Sat in the middle lake and i did happen to pull 3 fish that day throwing senkos tight to the island, i tried the same thing and got nothing. Went to get lunch w/ my girlfriend and then came back to fish the back lake, the dirty lake. Thats when things started to pick up, fished one particular stretch of shorline and got 8 bites up to 3 pounds pretty quick dragging a senko. All my bites came when the rain let up, then as soon as it started to pour again the bite shut off, then on again when it let up a bit. Fish are funny sometimes, makes you wonder what gets them going. Anyways Jerry G ended up meeting me there at the end of my session and gets hammered his first cast. He ended up hooking up on a nice 3 pounder at the pipe when i took off. Pretty fun day but i got pretty soaked.

My friend showed up right when Tsunami left and he said he got slammed on his first cast on a jig but missed the fish. He was standing at the same spot I got slammed at on my first cast. I also talked to a guy who fishes either Legg or Eldo on a daily basis and he caught a couple fish. My buddy didn't get bit again while I was there but his girlfriend said she got bit a couple times both misses. I have no doubt that these were nesting fish even though I couldn't see them. I went back to she got bit and after three misses I finally came up with the male that was nesting only about 8 feet from the bank but you sure couldn't see them. The water only has about a 1ft of visibility and right now it's the best visibility the lake has had in nearly a year. So I left wet drenched and cold after two hours of fishing. I wish I had got on it earlier. It seemed like it was an early bite. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I'll see you guys on the water.
