#4299, "How too fix Hudd tails?" Fri Nov-10-06 06:15 PM by Slough Crew
I've got a few Hudds that have been in their bags for a while and the tails over time have gotten a little crooked. Is there any way to fix this? The baits still run straight but the tail is off to one side during the retrieve. I think I've read about putting the tails in hot or boiling water but I want to make sure before I do this and ruin a bait by boiling the paint off of it. Thanks.

Hey Slough Crew,
Those baits are pretty much ruined. Why don't I take them off your hands so you won't worry about them. Stress over a few swimbaits is the least of your problems.
BTW: If there are any other baits you have that don't run true...I'll take them also. I'm just looking out for you fellow trophy hunter!

Yes put the crooked part in boiling water for a minute. Then you can let them hahg until cooled or submerge them in cold water for a few minutes. Boiling them wont hurt them.

Thanks for the replies, I put the tail in boiling water and but after a closer inspection I've got a "blem" the sides of the tail are different on each side, one side is catching more water than the other so I guess I'll just have to make due. When I take somebody with me that will be their bait. Oh yeah and thanks for the offers to repair it but the offers didn't sound too good........
