I was wondering how to post pics. I have a digital camera and think it makes the reports more interesting with pictures. Is there a way to post the pics right with the message? I'm not really a computer whiz (if you can't tell) so any help will be appreciated. Thank You. -PHIL
I wrote this up previously for someone else, I think I need to make it a permanent page for the site. Let me know if you have any questions.
To post an image, click on post, just like you normally would when you are going to post a message. Look above at the writing in red. Where it says "File Upload Enabled Click here ot upload your file" Click on that. From there you need to select what kind of file you are uploading. If it's a picture it's probably a .gif or .jpg file which they describe there as GIF or JPEG. Select that box. Then click on Browse. The browse button allows you to select a file on your local computer. For example you might have something on your desktop, so you would browse to c:\windows\desktop. The tricky part is that in the browsing window it might not show you all of the files on your desktop. If it doesn't you need to click on the pull down menu that says "files of type" and select "All files (*.*)". Once you've done that it should show you everything on your computer and you should be able to select a picture. After you select the picture, click on upload file! This takes the picture on your computer and copies it to the calfishing.com server. Then it tells you where the picture is and says "File was successfully uploaded to remote server. The URL of this file is" The line below this is the link to the picture. Highlight this text with your mouse and copy it (right click -> copy). Now go back to the window where you are posting your message and paste that link in (right click -> paste). When you post the message, the link will automatically be interpreted and changed into the image like so: http://www.calfishing.com/dcforum/User_files/3b2265673da66602.jpg A good one from Anderson Res. It sounds complicated but once you do it once it's pretty easy.
Once you click "post" it'll show a different screen, which has the red writing above the message box. You might want to print Rob's instructions so that you can follow along as you post. -Brian
Phil, That is correct, I didn't realize that until Bill pointed it out. I think it's about time to make the info on logging in, posting pics, etc some permanent links on the page. Will advise when it happens. By the way, nice 7lb corbina Bill! That is one big corbina.
