I have purchused two okuma reels 1- indiron LX 400 2- nitrix 250 Lx I have the same problems with both reels. The casting button will not go all the way down unless I use two fingers. When I do get it to go down the handle will not turn to retrive the bait. Has anyone ever had this problem with these reels? There both not even 1 year old yet and I can't use either one. I want to send them back for servise but they won't tell where to send them. I'm begining to think these things are junk and getting ready to sell both of them. Has this happed to anyone here

Joe Sorry for the confusion, sounds like something isnt right here. Okuma's customer service has been nothing but outstanding in the past. I have used all these reels and have no problems. Did they issue you an rma#? I will do what I can to help you. I need your full name and the rma#. Feel free to email me if you dont want to put it here. My email is team_okuma@yahoo.com

Joe...I bought a Induron 400 about 10 months ago and I had the same problem right out of the box. When I told Okuma about the problem they gave me a HUGE runaround. I paid to ship it to them and they took three weeks to get it back. They said they repaired it but the first time I took it out it did the same thing. I asked them for a new reel and you would have thought I was asking for stock in the company. I started posting about the problem to warn others. They finally sent me a new reel and it still has the same problem. That reel now sits on a shelf because it is not worth it to me to fight them over the continuing problems. Hopefully Lake can get the problem solved for you... he obviously has some kind of connection with Okuma. Good luck.

Lake...I wish you could have helped me too. I went round and round with the Okuma folks for almost two months before I finally got a new reel...the one that I don't use and won't sell to anyone because it is functionally unsound. I was so dismayed with their lack of customer service I posted warnings on a couple other sites along with this one. I couldn't believe it when I had a guy on SD Fish post that I was just a whiner. I thought the whole purpose of these boards was to share information. I don't personally dislike anyone at Okuma, but was absolutely incredulous at the overall lack of willingness on their part to resolve the problem in an equitable and timely fashion. I never asked them for my money back, I just asked them to PLEASE make the deal right by giving me a reel that worked and to quit asking me to pay for multiple shipping costs to have a brand new reel repaired. The worst thing I ever said to them was that in my experience Shimano would never allow a problem like this to go unresolved. I'm glad there is now someone out there who is offering to help Joe. I don't want anyone to go through the frustration and expense I went through for a product they cannot use. I sincerely hope you can solve his problem.

First I would like to thank Lake for helping me with this matter. He got me in touch with Mike over at Okuma. Mike said that they would have my reels repaired and shipped back to me in 48 hrs as soon as they receive them. They should be getting them tomorrow 11/17.If it all works out I have to admit thats some pretty fast service. Lake is going to get back with me on this to find out how it went. I'll post up what happens. Thanks Lake

Hi guys, unfortunately I have had nothing but problems with my okuma reels. I have an ID 400 that makes this awful grinding noise and seizes when I reel in and I just bought a nemesis 200W and have the problem like you with the casting button. Both had these problems right out of the box. I returned the ID 400 with good fast service only to see it did the exact same thing only worse. I tried calling again (more than once) and never got any answer. Any help would be great. I hate to have nice new reels sitting on the shelf for nothing...
