I personnally think the pointer live is crap! I doesn't work too well in the normal rip style retrieve. It has the tendency to want to rollover on the jerk. But I have heard it is suppose to be reeled in slow to work right, but I haven't tried it yet. I bought 4 of them and now I regret it. I would rather have a regular pointer because those catch tons of fish for me everywhere I fish. The pointer minnow I have't heard of, unless you are talking about the flashminnow, then that is an awesome bait also. I will wiggle on the pause and that will bring fish to it. But you will have to try them out for yourself to be the judge of it because everyone has there own preferences. Just my 2 cents.

Live pointer has disappointed me also. The segmented tail does little or nothing for the action. The standard pointer on the other hand has that tight wiggle and suspends perfectly. But the live pointer may have its time and place, I think..

Oh ok, I know what you are talking about now. Normally you just hear people say pointer not minnow pointer. But the pointer is all you need. Well maybe a few Staycee's also.

The Pointer SP I bought isn't worth .02 IMO. I like the standard Pointer 78 and 100's. Ghost minnow works best in our clear water Indiana and Michigan lakes. I'm not sure what to do with the swim tail one. It's just sitting there looking good in one of my boxes at this point. I think that's where I got in trouble in the first place. I fell for her looks on that tackle shelf.:P Unlike one of the other posters I only bought one instead of four. So at 15 bucks a shot. The lure isn't worth it.

Hey guys, the SP has done me wonders. The main thing is to SLOW DOWN!!!!!! The other pointers seem to like to be twitched and ripped. The SP likes to be twitched and pulled. It does good when conditions say twitch baits will almost work. If your getting fish just barely on the tail hook of your other Pointers, switch to a SP and take the speed down a notch. Hope this helps, and leave some for me! Tight lines, Wade
