Hey gang the Stardust was on a tagging trip today at Santa Rosa island. The rockfish bit very well. Very nice big Reds, Coppers and Lings. Several very nice 15 pound average Sheepheads and many whitefish. All fish were tagged and released.
When the rockfish was done Jason slid into an area where the Mirage has been putting the wood to big halibut. In aboput an hour the 10 anglers had 10 Halibut with several over 30 pounds. Two 15 pound Seabass as well. The bite was on live squid and several on sardine.
Good news Jason is looking to run his 3/4 day open party trip this friday to this area. If you have them bring squid catching gear. Have one rod set up to catch a piece of squid. Then place the live squid on the dropper loop set up and stand by. Both my halibut were on live squid almost instantly once on the bottom. Also all the halibut and seabass on this day were tagged and released. On friday you can catch a couple and keep them. Someone kick me down a steak. I released about 50 pounds worth today. What a great day. Get out there friday

12 anglers landed 10 Halibut, 3 Sheephead, 12 Lingcod, 120 Whitefish, 2 Barracuda, 45 Reds, 2 White Seabass, and 46 Rockfish
