Trout chasing Bass lures? I guess that's the only thing chasing lures at Steven's Creek these days.

I fished for an hour before work today. had one 3-4lb follower on a Castic Trout, but he got shy when the lure was close to shore. Lot's of baby Bass around.

I decided to try to entice the Bass with a crankbait when I caught the Trout. Nice fish, so I released it to catch another day. I had to run up to get my camera since I left it in the truck.

Always keep a camera with you while fishing Steven's Creek, you never know what you'll reel in.

Alot of times after the bass fry are big enough to be concidered bait a lake with a lot of trout like stevens creek will turn the trout into a schooling feeding frenzy. Seems thats what happend, probally a reason why the population of bass never seems to increase there.

doesn't surprise me as much as seeing them caught on plastic worms (full size). trout are notorious for reaction bites, and people fish for them with jerkbaits and stuff like that. so a crank is pretty believable. but i've seen a few come in on 6" plastics, t-rigged on 1/0 or 2/0 worm hooks. that always gets me...

Lots of Bass lures work really well for Trout. Ive caught Trout on full sized spinnerbaits, 3" grubs, and large gitzits. Lots of times they are more cooperative than the Bass. :)
