When I buy fishing tackle I almost always buy it locally so I can get it in my hands immediately instead of waiting for shipping from an online agent.

When I do buy locally I like to support those shops that have supported clubs to which I belong.

When I saw that "Ly's Fishing Goods" was supporting the B-N-T tourney at Clear Lake, I sought out the shop to thank them for their support and to purchase a spinning reel and a baitcaster.

Ly (pronounced Lee) was pleased to hear that his sponsorship was appreciated and netted him sales that he wouldn't have gotten otherwise, as I'd never heard of his shop and, as it was 8 miles from where I worked, I probably wouldn't have gone there even if I had known of the shop. This made me feel like the trip was worth the inconvenience.

Ly then mentioned that my purchases would be 10% off because of my membership in B-N-T and mentioned that the same offer would be extended to any other members who shop there. Now I have to send in my membership application so I don't feel so bad for misrepresenting myself as an active member of the club!

He asked me to post the news of the 10% discount on the club forum so here it is. Stop by and say thank you for his sponsorship and save some money at the same time.

As it turns out, I found, at his shop, a plastic bait made by "YUM" called "CrawBug" that I had ordered online, days before, because I couldn't find it anywhere else. Dang it! I hate it when that happens.
