3637, Directions to Pinto?
Posted by Chris, Mon Jul-23-01 02:31 PM
So far, I won't be able to make it but there is a possibility I may if Dave, my boss at Western, decides to go.
Can somebody post directions using Yahoo maps or some other on-line map site?

Thanks
Chris

Give me the name of the street/road that takes you to the parking lot and launch area and I can post a map from Hwy 101.

Pinto Lake is on Green valley Road. You can get directions from their website. http://www.pintolake.com/.

See you all there...

Mitch,

I'm traveling from the Stockton area. (35 miles beyond) Would you advise I-5 through Pacheco Pass, or I-680 to Hwy 101. Maybe you can help with something other than those routes. Once I get to Hwy 101 I planned on taking Hwy 129 across to Watsonville.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Steve,

I would take 680 to 101 to Hwy 152 west (Hecker pass), in Gilroy, then over Mt. Madonna. 129 from 101 is OK too, not as many curves but it's a litte further.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-24-01 AT 04:58 PM (PST)

Thanks, Mitch.

Yes, 129 is about 10 miles further down 101, but like you say, fewer curves and easier drive. At my age, I'd rather be more relaxed while driving and I'm never in a hurry. Hence: LzyFish.

Thanks,

Steve
