I might be making it up that way for the Delta Region opener...Where is the closest place to crash on Saturday night?

Thanks,

Alone probably.....its still in the air. I was just looking for a place for saturday night...maybe just in the car? Where is Whiskey Slough anyway? I Googled it, and it shows a little marina, same place?

Bryan,

Here's a pic of whiskey with the marina and the launch location marked.
This is for everybody who might want to pre-fish this weekend also.

There is a big pull out on the corner where we are launching with plenty of room for sleeping. You will probably not be alone.

So, any body pre-fishing this weekend?

I'll probably be out there Sunday. Gotta knock off some of that rust since I haven't been on the water since the TOC in November.

Tiki Lagoon has a campground. Depending on where you guys launch at Whiskey it would be a 10-20 minute drive. Stockton has plenty of motels that would not be too far either, but then you would have to stay in Stockton :(

I have cat-fished all night out on that road many times. There are your normal schetchy types that are around but I have never had a problem. We always have a fire going, and my brothers who I fish with are frighting enough to keep the riff raft away. We never put a tent out but then we don't sleep much when cat fishing.

cruised by the lauching spot at whiskey today - but I was left wondering how this was going to happen on the rock/rip rap...

how do the boats get into the water?? we haul them down the rocks?

Yep,ya just carry it down(carefully) the rip rap and off ya go.One thing to watch out for at whiskey is there is rebar in the rocks so you need to be aware.I haven't launched there but it looks pretty tame(we have a couple spots that are a plain pain in the butt to launch,ie middle river at the barrier) :o Most everybody is willing help each other out so don't hesitate to ask for some help getting in or out.

This old guy did it. Not too bad. Mitch helped me 'out'. 'In' is usually the hardest...going down hill.
