im trying to figure out what size versa vessel to buy. but i want to know if the live well will create more drag on the water in the 7ft. if you guys think it wont be any differnt id like to get the 7ft because its less expensive. any info would be appreciated. im tired of dragging that follow bag around especially on those windy delta days.

thanks! and ill see ya at the open

stick some pigs!

I don't know if anyone has the 7footer, I think most of us have the 8 foot model. I imagine it will still be able to handle a livewell, you just prollywould need to be real specific on where everything is lined up at so it rides good, but I would assume it could handle it. When you talk to them make sure they know you are with BNT cause when they asked me how I heard about VV's I told them from BNT guys and they gave me a discount, it would be worth a shot asking.

The 7 could do it but just barely. It'd be a balancing act with the frame positioning on the pontoons. The problem is that when you balance it for a full livewell, it rides awkwardly in the water when the well is empty and won't glide very well. This is the problem with my boat but it's due to the "rocker" pontoon design rather than length. The less the pontoons taper, the better they'll be able to support the weight and the better your glide will be.

IFISH say's,

Just to give you an idea, I used to have a Buck's Bag Alpine series boat, and it is a 6 footer. I had an on-deck livewell on it and the back sagged quit a bit. I'm sure the 7 footer could handle it, but if you're going for a VV, you might aswell be completely satisfied and go with the 8ft. Also, take into account the gear you want to bring along with you, electronics you'd like to have, etc. Good luck and hope you get your VV soon bro !
