ok i hear all these good things about reapers and i havnt really tried them out. so today i was fishing and had one laying around and started flippin it. i didnt really see wat type of movement it was supposed to do, wat it did was just spin around in a wide circle and twist my line. it looks like maybe the big tail is supposed to start kickin but i dont know. also what is it supposed to be, crawdad? sunfish?

Here in the Delta, I thought of a reaper as a reaction/locater type of bait.
Meaning you put the bait in their face, they will eat it.
Really not to much action other than "Here I am in your face"
Maybe it mimics a darting away crawdad? or a scared nose diving bluegill?
Reapers work great for me when flipping or pitching into heavy cover.
The profile of the bait allows it to get into the smallest of pockets.

JC is right. It's more of a reaction bait. You wanna put it right in their face. The bait itslef doesn't have a lot of action. Kinda like a tube. Throw a tube in the water and watch it close. The tail doesn't dance all over the place like you think it would. The profile of the reaper with the thin tail and smooth head enable you to get it those tight places. And it is a bigger meal then a skinny worm. The bait can represent whatever the bass are feeding on. The color determines wheather it represents a craw or a baitfish.
