Hello,

I'm going to clearlake and was wondering where good places to launch
in the northwest area are. I was hoping to try Rodman slough, Rocky point,
or holiday cove areas.

Any information on launchings near these areas or suggestions for other areas
are much appreciated.

Thanks!

I am not sure of the level of the lake right now, but Rodman should be an easy launch for ya.

FIT's right, Rodman is very easy and the water if VERY HIGH! Lots of great cover available everywhere. Reports are fish are very ansy to move to spawning grounds. Don't forget your spinnerbaits in dirty water as my partner and I failed to throw them during a tourney and the top guys did just that to nail some good ones.

Big Rocky has a nice area to launch on the side of the road so just drive slow and when you see a nice open area as you close in on Big Rocky you can park there. Little Rocky has a pullout next to some willow trees but I don't know exactly where the spot is or how to describe it as there are a few areas that look like it.

Not sure where to park for Holiday but I know guys drop in there and the area, haven't searched it myself. Drive and walk around and you'll find it.

Lakeport has some good fishing off Library Park. Remember, that's where many tourney's are held so fish tend to congregate there. If you launch there you can go both to your left and right and there is a lot of good area. Just figure to pick one way or the other as it will be something of a kick.

Anyway, some people will say I'm giving too much info (and you might be saying I don't have enough details!) so I'll leave it as that.

Good luck!

Todd

There's a vacant lot just south of Rocky where you can launch. There's another vacant lot south of Little Rocky where you can also get out in your tube. Easy spot in the spring, a bit of a hassle in the fall. Nice public ramps at Nice & Lucerne with good fishing nearby. Rodman is an easy take-off spot, and State & County Parks are also good launch sites. You might also be able to put your tube in at Skylark if you want to fish Berger Bay - not sure if Skylark would charge you any $. The 6th street launch ramps are also easy, although I don't know how the fishing is nearby. Good luck.
