I know nothing about your trophy Bass fishing, except the volumes I am learning from this site. But, learning about what you are doing, I can invision a couple baits that we use here in Wisconsin working well on your Bass. One that I have mentioned in another post is the Musky Innovations Bull Dawg.

I have read about baits that you label "wake" baits, which I can assume are shallow runners that swim near the surface. The best I have ever seen is the Burmek B-1. This thing looks awesome swimming along the surface! It's now made by the Uncle Josh Company. The Burmek Brothers were very famous here in Wisconsin. They sold out to Uncle Josh when they got up in years. Check them out!
