10085, New Pics: TroutCZ Swimbait

Here's some shots of the TroutCZ swimbait. This bait is made down in So-Cal and has been around for a few years but not for sale. From what I understand, the lures will be for sale in shops soon, if they are not already.

The baits are 7" long and weight 2.25oz without the hook. Pricing will be somewhere between $14-$20. The baits have a plastic tube in the head to allow for 'pro rigging'.

I tested 4 baits, and they all swam passably. For the ones that were slightly off, repositioning the hook fixed the problem right off. The TroutCZ sinks around ROF3. These lures are soft! and I was told by the manufacturer that they should be fished very slow, with the expectation that you will only get a few fish per lure.

In my initial tests, the baits looked good in the water, with a very slow speed tail wag. Looking closely at the tail it appears that a Huddleston tail was molded to create the tail for this bait. You can see the fin rays of the original Hudd tail in this bait. That part of it really turns me off - much like how the Bass Harasser body is exactly like the Hudd body to the millimeter.

Regardless, at 7" long, with a different ROF than the Hudd and some different color options, this lure brings some different opportunities to the table, and it does look very "fish catchy" in the water.
