I'm still wanting to find a 'point of contact,' shall we say, at the San Jose Water Company -- there're a couple of ponds managed by them that have 'No Trespassing' signs all around 'em, but I understand they'll let you fish there if you know someone in the company. A guy I met at the Sportsmen's Expo told me they have an annual SJWC Bass Derby at one pond in particular, where they have a whole slew of people out there for a big weekend BBQ & all -- the guy had some pictures of the hawgs out of this pond, and they're HUGE! I've scoped the place out, but never had the nerve to toss a plug out there.

"Please -- I just want to make a *FEW CASTS*!!!" ;(

I once fished a no-access water district pond back in the early 80's, up above Alum Rock Park in SJ, where, once we crawled under/through the barbed-wire fence, my first cast -- with a *Hula Popper* of all things -- landed me an 8+, which at the time was far and away the biggest bass I had ever caught, and was quite the thrill (unfortunately, it didn't taste all that great -- these were the days before I had ever heard the term 'catch-&-release'!) :o

Boy, it'd be great to get back up there sometime! (Ah, to be young again!)
