You know what the thing is with catching big bass? You gotta do just the opposite of what we are all taught about fishing for bass from magazines and newspapers and watching the bassmaster. 99% of what is written is written to help you catch a lot of bass, not to help you catch a big bass. Most of the time catching big bass means using the same lure for long periods of time with no success and hitting the same spots over and over without getting bit on them. I'd lose every tournament I fished if I fished for big bass. I was on this trip for a long while of trying to catch big bass on all kinds of different lures and techniques and stuff. While I was on that deal I didn't catch very many big bass at all. When I went back to my money big bass baits this year in the winter I started to get on them again. Big bass just aren't going to hit consistently on certain baits like spinnerbaits, crankbaits, plastic worms, etc. When you focus in on jigs, swimbaits, and other big bass lures and only use those baits, that's when you start getting the big bites. You just gotta be willing not to get very many bites and to go home really frustrated a lot of days. When you throw the trout for 2 hours and then give it up and start pitching a spinnerbait, that's not going to get you big bass. When you throw the trout for 10 hours and get skunked and go out the next trip and throw for 10 hours, that's when you're gonna get one. All you gotta do is look at the guys who get the big ones and it's pretty boring in the tackle selection department. I'm getting more boring every day :)

How many types of baits do you have on when you hit the lake anyway Mark? Like one? And how many over 10 do you have? Like 50 or 60? har.
