Tried around north Lag/CDM for nada with a lot of loose weed in the water--only one short bite. Went south to a cove for only one 6-inch BSP and a short 'but (it was lost in an incoming wave). Surf was up and wally so not many little rips to fish, just one big sand-cloud everywhere. No crabs at all. If I was a perch, I wouldn't spend anytime getting pounded for no crabs, lol. Fished 915 to 1130 am.

Fongster,

Reminds me of a time I was walking the beach in Oceanside several years ago with an old girlfriend. Came across a guy that was fishing the surf in real miserable conditions. Bad weather and on top of that , The Army Corps of Engineers were dreging the channel entrance to Oceanside Harbor so the water was a real mess.

I approaced him and asked if he was having any luck. He glared back at me and replied, " Are you kidding? No self respecting fish would be caught dead within a mile of this place!" I pried a bit and asked him where he thought they might be. His reply was, " I don't know, but they have to stay in the water whether they like it or not!"

I often wondered why he choose to continue fishing there that winter afternoon. :7

Thanks for the report Fongster. Surf was up a bit Halloween day, but is now smaller...if the perch bite picks up, I may surffish down there.
