Not hard, just took a minute to read the directions. Here's some pics from last summer and fall, Newport and Shelter Spotties.

Ed,

I was hoping you would have some shots of yourself so that if I ever saw you surf fishing the Carlsbad area, I would recognize you.

Oh well, maybe some other time.

Tight Lines!

Nice pictures Ed. When are you heading up to Newport again? I'd like to join you for some fishing. I pulled a WSB out of there last week.

Very soon perhaps. We're moving back to Mission Viejo next week, that is if the deal goes through. I'm ready for some Newport action, this is the one time of year when for some reason Shelter goes dead. Should pick up as Newport dies though. Anyways, once I get settled we'll hit it.

You won't happen to have any access to the lake once you move to MV will you...?

All depends on how nice you treat me. LOL. Yeah, Greg has a membership. Thing is, no tubes, to use your yak you have to have insurance (learning that one almost drove to insanity), and the rental boats have bad hours. On top of all this, it'll cost you $10 just to fish from shore (which is a really small area). Water is super super clear. Need the darkness. I'll see if we can yak it w/out insurance (or if I can get yak insurance for like $5 a century).

Any yak in your future? I'll be getting rid of my Navigator very soon and getting a Tourer. Like the Nav, but it's too wide for my legs to hang over the sides w/out trashing my knees. Hurts my back to keep the legs in all the time. So, I need to go narrower. A faster boat won't bug me either.

7214, Fished Newport Tonight

Ed, I fished Newport tonight and also last Thursday. You wouldn't believe how dead it is. Tonights total was 2 spotties at the end of the evening.

Last Thursday was 1 short WSB & 1 very short Barry. I hope it pick's up soon. I'm wondering if the fish moved outside to suck up all the left over giant squid scraps? If not, I think the Pavillion skiffs have sure put a hurt to those fish. I remember when it was common to have a 20 fish night. Now this.
