The surffishing was so slow that I decided to play around on the pier in Dana Point, and caught my first ever salema. I didn't measure it, but it might have been around 8 inches. I never caught one before--interesting fish...made some funny croaking noises out of the water. Not a fish to brag about, but it saved me from the dreaded "skunk"! I gave it to Sharkgirl's boyfriend...I think he gave it to an asian couple that wanted it. If I had a dropnet...like sharkgirl, I would have caught all kinds of small fish(like they did)that they used for bait. It was nice actually meeting people from this board in person!
