Took a friend from work and his other friend out fishing today. He did some aluminum welding for me and they almost never get a chance to fish. The plan was to get dines and go halibut fishing BUT(there’s always a but) as we were motoring to the bait barge my bait tank died. Lame…. Well we got bait anyway and used a bucket to keep it alive for a while. We dropped dines on the jetty and on lot’s of other high percentage areas, but we got nada. After a few hours we still hadn’t caught a fish so I told them to get ready for a long ride. We went all the way back to the bird sanctuary in deep South bay. We dropped anchor and started chumming cut up dines to attract sharks and whatnot. The good news is the sharks showed up and were biting well. The bad news is neither of my friends landed one. They did get into plenty of action though.

Believe it or not this is a different person, for some reason they dressed the same.

I was the only lucky (and unbudded) angler who actually landed a shark.

Quiche Lorraine

They caught some small stingrays, but they weren’t impressed, some of the fish they were hooking and losing were BIG!!!

We ran back up the hill and pulled into some marinas to fish the docks. I got a couple on a spinnerbait then we all just dropped bait chunks down under the docks, this proved to be semi-fruitful and carried us to the end of the day.
