I was wondering if anyone has ever fished this lake. Are there bass in it? I've caught a couple trout out of it a couple years ago but haven't been there since.

I was there last year yes there are bass there. I dont know if they are any size. I caught one when I went just dink. If the fish are any size it would be a great frog or rat lake. It will have grass almost choke it late in summer. When I went it was very low and I busted a tire pulling my boat out at the ramp. You also need a day pass, I think you can buy them from the store in Lake Hughes. I bet its a sleeper.

EON's ago I fished there. My buddy used to live up there. Like you said, just some trout, but Castaic Dave says there are some Bass in there, so you can bet your bottom dollar they are present.

I would speculate that it does NOT get a lot of pressure, therefore could be AWESOME!

I also got your last post on the "Forbidden" topic. It is I, my friend who should be sorry, not you. I got way too emotional when I posted, but in reading all the responses I think everything is cool and we all have made nice.

I also sent Andrew a kindly worded e-mail.

Hope you are doing well....and Stayin' Bent!

Peace!

I used to ride my sport bike through the canyons back there and in the 50 plus times I am sure I passed it I never really saw anyone fishing. It looks totally "fishy" and I've thought about trying it out quite a few times but never made it. I think it is worthy of a little recon trip. Could be the best kept secret around. I know they plant trout there so if there are bass, and it doesn't get a ton of pressure like we think, there could be some toads in there. I'm on my way with abucket of crawdads and power bait right now....just kidding Rod!

Hey Rod, not sure where you sent the email but I never received it. No worries though, water under the bridge.

Castaic lagoon sure died down with the wind. I was hoping the wind would have kept people off and the bass hungry but I spent a couple hours there Saturday morning. Missed on soft hit on a jig and that was it. Didn't see any other action either.

I fished Elizabeth lake alot before they had those fires in the Angeles Forest they took alot of water out of the lake it got to the point were ther was no structure in the water it turned into a big mud pond but that was several months ago it might be back to normal now im not sure . I remember fishing there about 7 years ago and the bass fishing was really unheard of at that lake and in the last couple years it has been getting really good for bass i heard of a 14lb bass was caught at elizabeth but thats just something some guy told me but I believe with all the trout they put in that lake that they have a very good chance at getting that big or bigger , I Also heard that the reason ther is bass in that lake is because long time ago fish & game stocked it with bass by accident .

I have fished there a few times in the past (3 to 4 years ago) for bass and got skunked every time. But I have caught really big bluegill from there I mean lots at about 2lbs. they are a great time especialy when the're that size.
