Today the lake was a glass black with no wind and overcast skies. There was a lot of loose grass floating around, a sign of the cooler water temps and changing weather. I fished from 3 till 6:30 and fished the area from the marina down to white oak ramp and back on the other side of the lake. It was tough, the lake felt kind of lifeless with the sultry weather. I tried some big yamamoto grubs, the swimbait (one bite but I farmed it), and some surface stuff. Finally got bit in the marina cove on a black spook for a 2 pounder. That and a dink on the pins minnow was all the action for the day. No trout plant this week, don't know what DFG is up to but who does? Fishing will become more dependant on the weather fronts as the fall turns to winter. I'll be back on Sunday.
