Only have one class at 4:00 today, so I went to the wolf for a 3/4 day session. Launched the boat at around 8:30 and started out throwing generic swimbait. Met up with Mike Kostial who was in a kayak and shot the breeze with him for awhile. He didn't have any bites so far. Worked my way down the north shoreline and then went up to the rockpile on the other side. Fished from there to the corner of the buoy line, mostly with big hammer (I heard brown and yellow in deeper water was the secret bait). Fished back through Oakvale with a jerkbait and then crossed back over to some rocks on the north shoreline. Not a single tap by this time. Bypassed the circus that is senior shoreline and covered the murphy's rock area and then went back across to the south shoreline again and drifted to the very back throwing generic swimbait. Still nothing. Broke for lunch and watched the wind pick up and some foggy cloudy lookin stuff start to blow over the hills. Fished into the wind, back up the north shoreline and then something unbelievable happened. That's right, I actually got a bite. There's this one spot that just looks like the spot, but I've never gotten bit there. I fished it probably twice already, and mike was on it when I got there. Well, anyhoo, this time I throw the swimbait right next to this rock and tataratatap. I carried through with the hookset of celebration and boated a nice chunk. Went 4.8 on the digi. Fat and healthy fish, really thick across the back. Definitely a trout eating machine, huge old teeth that I mananged to trash my finger on, and totally plugged. I fished for about an hour more before I had to get home. Ok, off to class.

Couldn't decide which one to post, so I posted both :-) one of em shows the belly better.

Brian, you are number 1. You got the good luck boat now. I predict big things.

try a Chocolate Purple vein worm over 8 inches long. Ive heard that that size and color produce some large fish on rocky points.

The fish was really fat, but really short also. Looked like a miniature 15lber ;-) That swimbait is 7.5" for reference.
