I just got my WON last night. There is a great article on Diamond Valley. They are currently building the ramp. When it is finished, they will open. It is presently only 8' short of full pool.

Mike Guisti is quoted alot. He thinks that people will be wanting to line up a week in advance from what they have been telling him.

HE says that he believes that an absolute novice will stick 20 15" bass a day with an occasional hawg.

Four strokes and injected 2-strokes will be allowed with a 25 mph speed limit.

If you don't subscribe to WON, IMO you should head to Turner's and pick up this week's!!

Thanks for the update. Launch should only be about 2 miles from
my driveway, can't wait. Launch access will be off Dominegoni Pkwy, East of Sanderson St in Hemet. Did you hit Skinner today? Took my daughter today, and she landed a Striper, nothing for me. Wind kicked up pretty good in the a.m.

Thanks for the report. I got lazy last weekend, and didn't drag my carcass out of bed either morning. I'll be there for sure this weekend, maybe Friday also. What type of boat are you in? According to Angler's Marine.. optimax or fourstrokes are GO. Rumor has it that Diamond Valley purchased over 100 Bass Trackers (Pro Teams) for rental purposes.. This is good news for those who don't own their own boats.. The rental rates on them however are prolly gonna be very bad news to the wallet... =/

Will not be at Skinner this weekend. Meeting my brother who lives in Las Vegas at Lake Mead. I've seen your Glastron at Skinner, nice boat. I'm in a white Crestliner w/ Merc OB. I usually hit the South shore first in the morning working the points, and then head over to Ramp 2. Last stop is normally the east end and the bank across from Ramp 1. A small correction, they have not started the launch ramps yet. They have the specs out and it is being put out for bid shortly. Their timetable is for the last quarter of the year if everything goes well.

At this time it will be four stroke, OptiMax, Ficht, or HPDI as the only gas motors allowed.

Will Optimax's always be allowed on the water or should I get a Bass Boat witha 4 stroke. I ask because sometime with in the next year or so I plan on getting a tournament set up and I want to not have to worry about the motor not being acceptable somewhere

I've already been burned royal by CARB with dirt bikes. IMO, the 4 stroke is the only way to go. Who knows what rules they will come up with 4 or 5 years down the line. I believe that 2 strokes are banned on Lake Tahoe. I wouldn't want to bet $10,000 that the MWD will not try that eventually on Diamond Valley.

There was a good article in the most recent issue of "Bassin" (a rag I pick up at Walmart). It was saying how the Optimax and all the other clean 2-strokes are so leaned out and efficient that they are super-finicky about fuel quality and other parameters that effect performance. It went on to say that the clean 2-strokes are just a stopgap that the manufactures are falling on until they develop their 4-stroke technology inhouse.

I own a sterndrive :( , so I really don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to outboards, I'm just relaying the info that I read.
