Went up to the same spot at the dam again. This time I brought my trout rod so I could at least catch something. After throwing the ospray for a while with no love , I decided to catch some of the trout I was seeing. After messing aroung and catching 2 and losing a couple more the school Im watching gets scared and bolts into the shallows at my feet. These trout were literally so shallow their backs were almost coming out of the water. So I get excited, grab the big pole and start chucking. On the second cast I get about a 4 or 5 pound largemouth to follow. This is the first follower I have seen so I was pumped. And that was it for the excitment. Oh well maybe next time.

Nick, if you ever get a chance to watch a trout stock at silverwood in mid season, do it! To watch the stripers boiling on that bait is a sight! A few years back I watched a stock where the trout were literally jumping back up the launch ramp to get away from the stripers.

last week there was a bunch of little feeders (aka DFG trout)in the back of Outhouse, they were all up shallow in the back of the cove- after watching my buddy nail a nice 4.8 on the Osprey from the wood right down the bank, and hearing his tale of bigger followers, I know why they were up so shallow, they were SCARED!!
